"Mrs. Susie C. McKenzie, 74, widow of James W. McKenzie, 1214 N. Water St. died at 3:30 a.m. today in Decatur and Macon County Hospital where she had been a patient since July 27."
"Born in Shelby County, Ind., Sept. 10, 1877, she was married to Mr. McKenzie in Champaign Feb. 23, 1898. He died in 1941."
"Mrs. McKenzie had been a resident of Decatur since 1917, coming here from Lovington in 1917. She was a member of the Democratic Women's Study Club, and the Grace Methodist Church where she was affiliated with the Women's Society of Christian Service and the Lydia Circle. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of American in Lovington."
"Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles Burke and Mrs. Kenneth Bailey, Decatur, and one son, Willard of Mendota. Two sons preceded her in death. There are five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Florence Hipsher of Lovington, and a brother John L. Huffman of Effingham. Four sisters and three brothers preceded her in death."
"Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today."
