- Raymond F. Spies, of RD 5 Cresaptown, died yesterday at Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient one week. He had been in ill health three years. Born April 24, 1902 in Cumberland, he was a son of the late Peter A. and Mary (Hier) Spies. He was a retired construction laborer. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary R. (Grabenstein) Spies; one daughter, Mrs. Rose Mary Logsdon, Wheeling; one sister, Mrs. Daisy Minnick, Cumberland, and two grandchildren. The body is at the Scarpelli Funeral Home. Services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Wendel Moliski and Rev. Vernon I. Naugle will officiate, with interment in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
