"ALTAMONT--Opal McKendrick, 88, of Altamont, died 5:30 p.m. Tuesday (June 8, 1993) in St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Effingham."
"Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Kull Funeral Home, Altamont, with visitation after 5 p.m. Thursday with 8 p.m. rosary. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Altamont. Memorials: Altamont Public Library Building Fund, Lutheran Care Center, Altamont Lions Club, or donor choice."
"Mrs. McKendrick was born Sept. 13 ,1904, in Altamont, daughter of Charles and Lola Hotz McKenzie. She was a member of St. Clare Roman Catholic Church, Altamont, and the Altamont Garden Club. She retired from the Reliance Insurance Company in Detroit, Mich., with over 40 years of service. She married Matthew J. McKendrick May 22, 1937, in Detroit, Mich. He preceded her in death Feb. 14, 1983."
"Surviving are her nephew, William Barkell and his wife Nina of Detroit, Mich.; niece, Mary Margaret Barnhart and husband Ralph of Livonia, Mich.; and several local friends."
