      VALE SUMMIT - Denise Marie Crowe, 49, of Vale Summit Road, Frostburg, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, at Sacred Heart Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Born Aug. 15, 1955, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of Donald G. Crowe, Midland, and Donna (Blank) Rosenberger, Frostburg. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ida and Ralph Blank; her paternal grandparents, Mary and Wilber Crowe; and several aunts and uncles. Miss Crowe was graduated from St. Josephs Catholic School, Midland, and Bishop Walsh High School, Class of 1973. During her high school years she was a candy striper for Sacred Heart Hospital. She attended Frostburg State College for two and one half years while working as a switchboard operator at Sacred Heart. Later, Denise was hired by Union Local 692 as a union organizer where she was promoted as an International Representative for United Food and Commercial Workers. Before retirement, she went on to become the Assistant to Regional Director of Region Two. She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church and the Sodality, Midland. Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her fiancé, David Billips, Glen Bernie; David's daughter, Tina Kiaunis and her children Alisha Clark, Richard Clark, and Dominic Kiaunis; one half-brother, Ronald Weimer and wife Jenny, Clarysville; two half sisters, Phyllis Wamsley and husband Gregory and Patti Fiorita and husband Donald, all of Midland; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and one special aunt, Marsha Blank. Her life was her family and home. She was an avid event planner for family and friends, and she captured every event in scrapbooks and pictures. Everyone she met was touched by her open and loving ways. She will be loved and missed forever by all. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. by Rev. Father Paul Breczinski. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Midland, on Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father Paul Breczinski as celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Martin, Larry Martin, Scott Drummond, Greg Crowe, Tyler Bennett and Derek Skidmore. The family requests memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society, 111 S. George St., Cumberland, MD 21502 She was buried on 3 Oct 2004 in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Midland, Allegany Co., Maryland.
