ELLERSLIE — Samuel Howard DeVore, 49, of Ellerslie, died on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at Braddock Hospital. Born in Cumberland on Nov. 15, 1960, he was the son of Paul David and Polana (Runions) DeVore. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki (Bridges) DeVore. Samuel was employed by the Mount Savage Brick Yard. He was a member of the Barrelville Outdoor Club and the Kennels Mills Sportsman Club. Surviving, besides his parents, are a brother, Russell D. “Rusty” DeVore and wife Annette, Hyndman, Pa.; sister, Mary P. Robertson and husband Thomas, Sunnyside; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., Frostburg, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ken Korns officiating. There will be a visitation an hour before the services. Interment will be in Mount Savage Methodist Cemetery.
