ECKHART - Jeraldine C. Lavin, 59, of Washington Hollow, Eckhart, died Friday, April 23, 1999, at her home. Born May 5, 1939, in Eckhart, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Lavina (Porter) Turk. She also was preceded in death by her twin sister, Josephine Turk. Mrs. Lavin had been employed at the Beall High School cafeteria. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. She was a member of A.F.S.C.M.E. Local. Surviving are her husband, Paul Lavin; one daughter, Jacqueline Skidmore and husband Tom, Eckhart; three grandsons, Thomas, Joshua and John Skidmore; three sisters, Mary Jo Campbell and husband Lane, Eckhart, Darlene Frye and husband William, Frostburg, and Marie Spiker and husband Joe, Eckhart. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Christian Wake Service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Monday at 10 a.m. with Father William Moody as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thomas D. Skidmore, Thomas E. Skidmore, Thomas P. Skidmore, Joshua D. Skidmore, Robert L. Bollinger, Lane A. Campbell Jr. and Dennis M. Lavin. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Michael's School or the charity of the donor's choice. She was buried on 26 Apr 1999 in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Frostburg, Allegany Co., Maryland.
