Eleanor Elizabeth GERKINS (daughter of Charles E. GERKINS and Sarah JORDAN) was born about 1905 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. She died on 3 Aug 1968 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. Mrs. Eleanor E. Lavin, 63, of 501 Beall Street, died Saturday at Memorial Hospital following an illness of five weeks. Born in Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Sarah (Jordan) Gerkins. Mrs. Lavin was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, the Women's Sports Club and the Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by her husband, Clarence L. Lavin, a twin sister, Mrs. Harold K. Miller, LaVale, and a brother Eugene B. Gerkins, Potomac Park. The body is at the George Funeral Home where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be conducted there tomorrow at 11 a. m. Rev. Forrest L. Farris will officiate and interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park. Pallbearers will be Ray Weimer, John Johnson, Arthur Carscaden, William Hoover, Russell Summerfield and Robert McGregor.
