    • WESTERNPORT —George Aldon Hanna, 31, of 153 Wood Street, died last night at the Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, where he had been a patient since March 4. Born in Frostburg, he was a son of Mrs. Stella Hanna, of Westernport, and the late Tally Hanna. Mr. Hanna was married in September, 1951 to the former Miss Eloise Dunk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Dunk of Westernport. A veteran of five years in the Infantry in the South Pacific during World War II, Mr. Hanna was awarded the Bronze Star Oak Leaf cluster and Purple Heart. He was wounded on Okinawa in May of 1945. Mr. Hanna was graduated from Bruce High School in Westernport, and attended Catherman's Business School, Cumberland. He was attending State Teachers College, Frostburg, and would have been graduated in September. He was a member of Onega Sigma Phi Fraternity; Lafayette Lodge 3, Knights of Pythias of Piedmont; Piedmont Company 10, Uniform Ranks, K. of P.; Victory Post 55, Weternport American Legion. Mr. Hanna was a member of Piedmont Trinity Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School for the past several years. Besides his mother and widow, he is survived by seven brothers, Irvin and Homer Hanna, both at home; Stanley and Oscar Hanna, both of Keyser; James Hanna, Beryl, W. Va.; Rev. Tally Hanna, Iaeger, W. Va.; and John Hanna, of Westernport; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Chapman, Piedmont, and Miss Hilda Hanna, at home. The body will remain at the residence, where services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. Rev. O. Clarence Mitchell, pastor of Trinity Church, and Rev. Robert E. Cassell, pastor of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, will officiate, and interment will be in Philos Cemetery. The Cumberland Evening Times, March 13, 1952
