- Cumberland, MD - William Earl Dorsey, Jr., 65, of Cumberland, MD, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at the WMHS Memorial Campus Hospital. Born Dec. 19, 1941, in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late William Earl Dorsey, Sr., and Sarah Lillian (Hoenicka) Dorsey. A United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Dorsey was formerly employed as a construction worker. He was an aviod fisherman. Bill was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #172, the Improved Order of the Redmen, Sioux Tribe #201; the Frostburg Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1273; the Good Fellowship Club. Bill is survived by his sons, William U. Dorsey and Mark A. Dorsey, both of Cumberland; his daughter, Patricia "Nikki" Dorsey, LaVale; his brother, John F. Dorsey, Sr., and his wife Doris; his sisters, Anita Lee Dorsey and Regina Mae Robinson and her husband Herb, all of Cumberland; four grandchildren, a special companion, Evelyn Davis, Cumberland; and a special aunt, Rita Keplinger, Cumberland. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, on Thursday, January 18, 2007, from 6 to 9 p.m. The Improved Order of Redmen Sioux Tribe #201 will conduct a service at 6:30 p.m. followed by a service conducted by the Frostburg Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1273 at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, January 19, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. with Father Milton Hipsley officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #172 Honor Guard. Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap. The family requests that m memorials be made to the Improved Order of the Redmen, Sioux Tribe #201, 334 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, MD 21502. (No source listed.)
