She was born in Cumberland Oct. 30, 1904, daughter of the late Edward Frederick Grabenstein and Josephine (McKenzie) Grabenstein. Mrs. Spies was a member of St. Ambrose catholic Church and the ladies Club of that church. She belonged to the Cumberland and Cresaptown Citizens Clubs. Her husband was the late Raymond F. Spies. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Rosemary Logsdon, Cumberland; one brother, Edward C. Grabenstein, Winchester Road; two grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Interment in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery. (no newspaper indicated on obituary)
