(1) Purchased 300 acres on the south side of Town Creek, for £225 from Stephen Taylor of Edgecombe Co. Land adjoined Nicholas Thorn, the north side of Little Swamp, Mary Gill, Ethedridge, Cabbin Branch, Hartwell Wiliford. Witness: John Horn, John Slaughter, Thomas Sharp. Proved November Court 1800. Edward Hall County Clerk. Note: Halifax County was formed from part of Edgecombe County in 1758.

(5) AMERIAH Biggs TO ROBERT Biggs
23 APRIL 1799
This indenture made this 23rd day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine (1799) Ameriah Biggs of the county of Halifax and state of North Carolina of the one part and Robert Biggs of the county and state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Ameriah Biggs and in consideration of the sum of one hundred silver dollars to him in hand paid by the said Robert Biggs the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and the said Robert Biggs acquitted and forever discharged and the said Ameriah Biggs hath granted bargained sold aliened and confirming unto the said Robert Biggs and by these presents I give grant bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said Robert Biggs his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land containing in estimation forty (40) acres be the same more or less and is bounded as followeth:
Beginning at a pine in Thomas Drew's line on the South side of the Bee Tree branch thence a West course to Robert Biggs' corner line thence North along the said Biggs line to Samuel Hogan's line thence along the said Hogan line to a corner pine thence East along Benjamin Braswell's line to a white oak on the road thence along the road to the first station to have and to hold the aforesaid land unto him the said Robert Biggs his heirs and assigns forever together with all houses, orchards, fences, timber, warters together with all the appertenances thereunto belonging to the only proper use and act of the said Robert Biggs, his heirs, executors, administrators or assignes forever and the said Ameriah Biggs for himself his heirs executors administrators and assigns doth hereby convenant and agree to and with the said Robert Biggs his heirs and assigns that he will warrant and forever defend the title and property of the aforesaid land unto him the said Robert Biggs his heirs and assigns against the properties claims and demands of all manner of person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming the same.
In witness whereof the said Ameriah Biggs hath hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date seist (sayest) above.

(9) Have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said ROBERT Biggs a tract of land containing 200 acres lying and being in our county of Greene between the Cedar creek of the Sinking Fork of Long Creek, Beginning at a post Oak in the corner is then East 500 poles to a stake then north 100 and 60 poles to a Post Oak, then west 500 poles to a Black Oak, then south 100 and 60 poles to the Beginning. As by the plat herewith annexed doth appear together with all the goods waters miners minerals hereditaments and appertinances he the said belongings or appertainings to hold He the said ROBERT Biggs HIS HEIRS and assigns forever. Yielding and paying to us such sums of money on yearly or other wise as our general assembly by from time to time may finish provided always that the said ROBERT Biggs shall cause this Grant to be Registered in the Registers Office of our County of Greene within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect.

GREETING
Know ye that we, for and in Consideration of the sum for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into our treasury,
Of fifty shillings
By Robert Biggs
Here given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said Robert Biggs a tract of land containing two hundred acres lying and being in our county of Green on the waters of long creek, the waters of Nolachucky River and the home of Lewis McClaughin now lives on marked and bounded as follows, Beginning on a hickory running then south one hundred and fifty poles to a live oak come thence from there west two hundred and twenty poles to a hickory thence north one hundred fifty poles to a stake thence east two hundred and twenty poles to the Beginning as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods, waters, minerals hereditaments and appurtenances to the said land belonging or appertaining to hold to the said Robert Biggs, his heirs and assigns forever yielding and paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our general assembly from time to time may direct provided always that the said Robert Biggs shall cause this grant to be registered in the register's office of our said county of Green within the time limited by law otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect.

Know ye that we have given and granted unto Robert Biggs, a tract of land containing three hundred acres lying and being in our county of Green on the sinking fork of long Creek, Beginning at a pine tree thence east ninety three poles to the creek continued sixty two poles to a hickory and black oak thence south two hundred and seventy poles to the said creek continued sixteen poles to said creek continued twenty four poles to a hickory then west twenty two poles to said creek continued one hundred and thirty three poles to a post oak then north three hundred and ten poles to the Beginning, to have and to hold the said Robert Biggs, his heirs and assigns forever, dated the 20th day of September 1787.
