Samuel Romulus Biggs was the son of Warren Biggs and Penelope Cherry. On June 16, 1880 he married Sallie Smallwood at her home "The Sycamores" in Washington, NC. In 1879 Mr. Biggs founded S.R. Biggs Drug store, and he operated a funeral business in conjunction with the drug store until his death. He was also treasurer of the town of Williamston.
The Biggs family continues to operate the funeral home started by Samuel Romulus Biggs Sr.
