- Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Conlon of this city announce the marriage of their son, Raymond F. Conlon, to Miss Elmyra Henderson of 1013 Twenty-first street. The ceremony took place at the rectory of the Ascension church, One Hundred and Seventh street, west, off Broadway, New York city, by Rev. Father Sadler. At present, they are residing in Newark, N.J. Altoona Mirror, September 8, 1937.
Raymond F. Conlon - Mr. Conlon, 75, of 1524 2nd Ave., died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 1987, at Altoona Hospital, following an extended illness. Mr. Conlon retired as fire inspector from the City of Altoona in December 1976, after 35 years of service. He was born Sept. 3, 1911, in Altoona, the son of Cletus and Elva (McKenzie) Conlon, and Aug. 31, 1937, in New York City, N.Y., married Elmira B. Henderson. Surviving are his wife and daughter, Elmira Ann, at home. Mr. Conlon was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Conlon was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society, Froshinn Society, AARP, and the Retired Firemen's Association. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Stevens Mortuary. The funeral will be held with a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Friday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Altoona Mirror, June 10, 1987.
