- Samuel McFarlane – Samuel McFarlane, 54, a former resident of Pennsylvania Avenue, died yesterday in Baker VA Center after an illness of several years. Born in Beartown (sic: Bier Town), he was a son of the late William and Clara (McKenzie) McFarlane. He was a B & O Railroad electrician and a member of the Nazarene Church. He was a World War II veteran. Surviving are his wife, Angwin (Thomas) McFarlane; five daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Deneen, Sacramento, Calif.; Mrs. Catherine Deneen, Mrs. Helen Smith, Mrs. Jean Cuppett, city, and Mrs. Dorothy Crites, Buffalo, N.Y.; two brothers, James and Arch McFarlane, city; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Ellis and Mrs. Clara Paulus, city; 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
