- Lula Elizabeth DURST (daughter of Michael Wesley DURST and Sarah Catherine LAYMAN) was born about 1901 in Avilton, Garrett Co., Maryland. She died on 27 May 1980 in Frostburg, Allegany Co., Maryland. Lula E. Warne, 79, of Star Route, Frostburg. Md., died May 27, 1980 in Frostburg Community Hospital. She was born at Avilton, and was a daughter of the late Wesley Durst and Sarah (Layman) Durst. Her husband, Wolford Warne, preceded her in death. She was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church and the WSCS of the church. She is survived by a brother, Charles Durst, Cumberland, Md. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home where services were conducted with Pastor Sadie Triplett officiating. Interment will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. The Republic, June 5, 1980.
