Thornton E. Lease, 65, of Harold Drive, Cresaptown, died yesterday at Sacred Heart Hospital where he had been admitted December 5. Born in Cresaptown, he was a son of Edward J. and Arzella (Lease) Lease. He was a retired employe of Mason's Dairy, a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, and a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his widow, Helen (McKenzie) Lease; a son, Russell E. Lease, Rawlings; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Rappold, Baltimore; Mrs. Matilda W. Jackson, Alexandria, Va.; and Mrs. Evelyn L. Poland, Arnold, Md.; five brothers, Marshall R. Lease, Summersville, W. Va.; Harry W., Jesse L., Samuel L., and Manuel R. Lease, all of Cresaptown. The body is at the George Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Interment will be in Lease Cemetery, Cresaptown. A Christian Wake service will be held tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Cumberland Evening Times, December 16, 1974.
