- FROSTBURG — Elva "Elvie" (Baker) Watkins, 86, of Frostburg, died Aug. 14, 2012, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born Feb. 19, 1926, she was the daughter of James and Loretta (Crowe) Baker, Pocahontas, Pa. Elva was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Watkins, five brothers and seven sisters. She also was precede in death by a son, George "Debs" Booth. Elva is survived by a daughter, Jeanette Watkins; grandchildren, Misty Maldonado, Shane Booth and Michael Booth Sr.; one sister, Ruth (Baker) Holt, Meyersdale, Pa.; sister-in-law, Shirley Watkins; brother-in-law, Donald Miller; several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Elva was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Frostburg American Legion Auxiliary. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church. Father Ed Hendricks will officiate. The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service prior to the Mass. Cumberland Times-News, November 15, 2012.
