- Russell Lee Keplinger, 62, of 1307 Bedford Street, died Wednesday, May 10, 1989, at the Sacred Heart Hospital Hospice, where he had been a patient for two and a half weeks. He had been in ill health for several months. Born in Cumberland, April 7, 1927, he was the son of the late Hubert Lee and Anna May (See) Keplinger. Mr. Keplinger retired from the maintenance department of the Kelly Springfield Tire Company in 1987. He served in the Navy in World War II and was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church; United Rubber Workers Local 26, and the American Association of Retired Persons. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survivors include his widow, Rita V. (Hoenicka) Keplinger; one daughter, Mary Franciosi, Cumberland, and two granddaughters. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Silcox-Merritt Funeral Residence. The rosary will be recited there Friday at 8 p.m. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Interment will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Sacred Heart Hospital Hospice.
