June 5, 2010, Cumberland Times-News CUMBERLAND — Kala Don Ware Dawson, 61, of Cumberland, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2010, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born on Nov. 1, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Wilma Lease Ware, of Cresaptown. Her sister, Linda Ware Lewis, also preceded her in death. Kala was a member of the Cresaptown Eagles 2883 Ladies Auxiliary and formerly served as President. She had a variety of interests, including gardening, baking, and crafting. She was a caregiver and loved spending time with children. Her two sons, James Iser and Lonnie Iser; a sister, Robin Fadley; her companion, Sam Biggs; and an extended family of aunts, uncles, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, survive Kala. At Kala’s request, she was an organ/tissue donor and donated her body to science in the hopes of helping others. A celebration of Kala’s life will be held at the Cresaptown Eagles on Thursday, June 10, 2010, at 7 p.m. All friends and family are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association at 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311 or Donate Life America at 700 N. Fourth St., Richmond, VA 23219.
