- In 1900, Samuel, 20, Helena’s brother, is also in Millgrove Township. He is a boarder, going to school. He is living with Thomas and Eva Legg, see Mckenzie censuses pg. 3. Samuel ends up marrying Ethel Legg, but I cannot trace who her parents were. She is living down the road with Delmar and Harriet Webb, and she is listed as a 16 yr old S-in-law.
In 1910, Charles, 45, Joseph and Hannah’s 1st child, is still in Clear Creek, Wheeler County, Nebraska with his wife Ida, 33, and their 3 children. He owns a farm, see Mckenzie census pg. 8.
In 1920, Samuel, 40, and Ethel, 37, are still in Pleasant Township, Stueben County, Indiana with their two youngest children. Samuel is still a mail carrier, see Mckenzie censuses pg. 10. Helena’s father, Joseph, now 83, is living with Samuel in Pleasant, Indiana. Samuel’s son, Howard, is a laborer in a shoe shop.
In 1930, Samuel and Ethel are in Jamestown, Stueben County, Indiana.
