Born in Westernport, he was a son of the late John McKenzie and Eva (Tasker) (sic:Tanner) McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie was a World War II veteran and an employee of Westvaco in the finishing department. He was a member of Potomac Fire Company, Westernport, Victory Post 155, Westernport; Local 676, United Paper Workers and United Paper Makers and the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Belva (Michael) McKenzie; five daughters, Mrs. Susan Kalbaugh of Columbia, Md.; Mrs. Barbara Winebrenner of Westernport; Mrs. Linda Bender, Cumberland; Mrs. Lois Whiteman, Westernport, Miss Janet McKenzie, at home; two brothers, Wayne McKenzie, Westernport, and Elton McKenzie, Westernport; four sisters, Mrs. Bernice Dent, Charles Town, W.V a.; Mrs. Hilda Friend, Westernport; Mrs. Joyce Jones, Westernport; Mrs. Marguerite Footen, McCoole; and five grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p m. at the funeral home with the Rev. David Rockel officiating. Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport. Members of the Potomac Fire Company will serve as pallbearers. The Potomac Fire Company of Westernport will meet at 7 p.m. Friday at their station to proceed to the funeral home to conduct a memorial service for Mr. McKenzie.
