CUMBERLAND — Virginia B. Connor, 86, of Cumberland, formerly of Lonaconing, died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at the WMHS-Braddock Campus, Cumberland. Born Sept. 2, 1922, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Wilson L. Bradley and Eva (McCormick) Bradley. She married Thomas “Tim” Connor on March 13, 1942, after attending Frostburg State College for 2 years. She had worked for Dr. Paul E. Frey, Dr. Richards and Dr. Leslie R. Miles as an assistant and secretary. She was Episcopalian and a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Lonaconing. In 1985, she moved to Washington Street in Cumberland. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Thomas “Tim” Connor, of Cumberland. At her request, she was cremated. Family and friends will be received at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Lonaconing, on Tuesday, June 30, 2009, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the church, following the receiving of family and friends, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Fred Sloan officiating. Inurnment will be held at Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg. Arrangements are being handled by the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A., Lonaconing. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 6 St. Peter’s Place, Lonaconing, MD 21539.
