- FROSTBURG — Lloyd E. Perkins Sr., 78, of 19309 Old Dans Rock Road, S.W., Frostburg, died Thursday, May 9,1996, at Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 11, 1917, in Ocean, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Humbertson) Perkins. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Rose (Muir) Perkins; one son, J. Salem Perkins; and one brother, George Perkins. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Mr. Perkins retired from the Celanese Fibers Corp., having worked for 48 years in the Spinning Department. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of VFW Post 5280, Lonaconing. Surviving are his wife, Joy (McKenzie) Perkins; three sons, Lloyd E. Perkins Jr., Hagerstown, James Robert Perkins and wife Terri, Enterprise, Ala., and Joseph Wayne Perkins and wife Kathi, Old Dans Rock Road; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Sunday. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. T. William Preston officiating.
