- William J. Beechie – Vale Summit – William J. Beechie Sr., 80, of Vale Summit, died Monday, Dec. 18, 1989, at Frostburg Community Hospital. Born in Johnstown, he was the son of the late John and Mary (O’Grince) Beechie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel (McKenzie) Beechie on March 17, 1989. Mr. Beechie was a retired Kelly-Springfield employee and was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Frostburg; the Kelly Retirement Club; and Dan’s Mountain Water Association. Survivors include three sons, William Joseph Beechie Jr., Eckhart; James Beechie and John Beechie, both of Vale Summit; one daughter. Mrs. Mary B. Schmidt, Frostburg; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Barry, Frostburg; and Mrs. Elizabeth Cook, Midland; one brother, Carl Beechie, Loartown; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchildren. Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Cumberland Evening Times.
