VALE SUMMIT - Mrs. Mabel Beechie, 78, Vale Summit, died Friday, March 17, 1989, at Memorial Hospital. Born Jan. 7, 1911, in Garrett County, she was the daughter of the late James Harris McKenzie and Jeannette (Painter) McKenzie. Mrs. Beechie was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Frostburg. Surviving are her husband, William Joseph Beechie; three sons, William Joseph Beechie Jr., Eckhart; James Beechie and John Beechie, both of Vale Summit; one daughter, Mary B. Schmidt, Vale Summit; three brothers, Glenn McKenzie, Eckhart; James McKenzie, Brunswick; and Edgar McKenzie, Lonaconing; six sisters, Freda Wiley, Los Angeles, Calif.; Agnes McKenzie and Beulah McKenzie, both of Akron, Ohio; Jeannetta Yoder, Baltimore; Imogene Snyder, Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Joy Perkins, Midland; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
