  Notes	SILVER SPRING — Elinor McKenzie Beaver, 84, died peacefully after a brief illness at the Arbor Ridge extended care facility in Silver Spring, on March 27, 2014. She was born in Garrett County, and was the oldest daughter of the late Oren S. McKenzie and Emma Patton McKenzie. She is survived by her beloved husband, William (Bill), of 64 years. She is also survived by her daughter, Carole Beaver Schnitzler and two grandsons, Brian and Eric Schnitzler of Waldorf; her son, David Beaver and his partner Harry Trines of Arlington, Va.; sisters, Ruth Bowman of Cumberland, Veronica Severns of Chula Vista, Calif,; and a brother, Oren F. McKenzie (Mona) of Cumberland. Elinor became a military wife when she married in 1949 and entered Federal Government service as a civilian employee with the U.S. Navy in Norfolk, Va. After moves to Rhode Island and California she settled in the Washington area in 1967, resuming her career in Federal Government service, ultimately retiring from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in 1990. She later worked 10 years as a real estate agent prior to moving to Riderwood Village in Silver Spring in 2005 where she made many friends while participating in activities such as aerobics, bridge, dancing and attending a range of classes offered there. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Chapel at Riderwood Village, Silver Spring. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
