FLINTSTONE,MARYLAND -- Eston Lewis "Eck" Alt, 86, formerly of old Route 40, Flintstone, and residing with his daughter on Bedford Road, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000.
Born Aug. 21, 1913, in Canaan Valley, W.Va., he was the son of the late William Enoch Alt and Sarah Jane (Judy) Alt. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Nora M. (McKenzie) Alt; five sisters; and three brothers.
Mr. Alt was retired from the Celanese Fibers Corporation of America.
Surviving are one son, Robert E. Alt, Cumberland; two daughters, Betty L. Willison, with whom he resided, Cumberland, and Shirley L. Tewell and husband Gary R., Everett, Pa.; one brother, Frank B. Alt, Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Sherry Schade and husband Bobby, Monte Willison, Jerry, Brian and Crista Tewell, and Danny and Andrew Alt; and three great-grandsons, Matt Daugherty, C.J. and Cameron Tewell.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 12 noon with the Rev. Fred Iser officiating.
Interment will be in the Glendale Cemetery, Flintstone.
Pallbearers for Mr. Alt will be his grandsons.
Contributions may be directed to the Flintstone Volunteer Fire Company.
