ECKHART — John Walter Minnick, 80, of here, died today in the Cumberland Nursing Home following an extended illness. Born in Frostburg, he was a son of the late Jacob and Annie (Rainer) Minnick. Surviving are his widow, Regina (Layton) Minnick; two sons, John E. "Bud" Minnick, Star Route, Frostburg, and Odell T. Minnick, LaGrange. III.; a daughter, Mrs. Hubert McKenzie, RD 2, Frostburg; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Hafer-Sowers Funeral Home where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and Wednesday. The Cumberland Evening Times, April 13, 1970
