CRESAPTOWN - Ora Frances McKenzie, 91, of Goodwill Mennonite Nursing Home, Grantsville, formerly of Cresaptown, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at the nursing home. Born March 13, 1908, in Allegany County, she was the daughter of the late Ruben and Hattie (Lease) Lease. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Todd" McKenzie; one son, John D. McKenzie; and one daughter, Rita E. Johnson, formerly of Oakland; one sister, Harriel Lease; and three brothers, Mason, Arlie and Frederick Lease. Mrs. McKenzie and her husband operated a grocery store on Lee Street and in Bowling Green for many years. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Cresaptown, and loved doing the bake sale fund raiser for several years. She was also a member of the Ladies Society of the church. Surviving are two sons, Richard A. McKenzie and wife, Patricia, Cumberland, and James E. McKenzie, Cumberland; four daughters, Jackie M. Johnson and husband, Wayne, Oakland, Marion L. Brown and husband, John, Monroeville, Pa., Sonia "Sonny" Senn, Ridgeley, and Rebecca Poole and husband, Greg, Augusta, Ga.; one brother, Frank Lease, Ellerslie; seven grandchildren, Jackie Herring, California, Randy Herring, Winchester, Va., Kriste Diamond and husband, Richard, Hagerstown, Richard McKenzie, Cumberland, John McKenzie, Philadelphia, Pa., Julie Christopher and husband, Todd, Cumberland, Tammy Brown and husband, Todd, Cresaptown; two step-grandchildren, Robert and Judy Brown, Pittsburgh, Pa.; and 10 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday at 8:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Catholic Church Friday at 10 a.m. with Fr. Reginald Russo, O.F.M., Cap. as celebrant. Interment will be in the Lease Cemetery, Cresaptown. Contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
