- Bennette Marie BAER (Clara Doll FINZEL-3, Sarah Catherine MCKENZIE-2, John M.-1) was born about 1909 in Finzel, Garrett Co., Maryland. She died on 1 Jan 1965 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. Mrs. Bennette Marie Minick, 56, Hillcrest Drive, was dead on arrival at Sacred Heart Hospital last night after being stricken at her residence. A native of Finzel, she was a daughter of the late Bertrand and Clara (Finzel) Baer. Mrs. Minick was a nurse attending the widow of Dr. Arthur H. Hawkins. Surviving are her husband, Charles Minick; a son, Roy D. Hawkins; a brother, Gerald Baer, Finzel; two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Wolford and Mrs. Odell Layman, both of Finzel, and four grandchildren. The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home, Baltimore Avenue, where the family will receive friends Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home Tuesday at 9 a.m. by Rev. John P. Lyness, administrator of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Finzel Cemetery. The Cumberland Evening Times, January 2, 1965
