- Agnes B. Shoemaker 97, formerly of Warnick Rd, Gilmore, Md., died July 17, 2010 at the Egle Nursing and Rehab Center. Born at Gilmore, Md., July 7, 1913, a daughter of the late Leo William McKenzie and Honora (Coleman) McKenzie, Agnes was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland, Md., and the Sodality of the church. She was retired from C&P Telephone, Washington, DC, and was a member of Senior Citizens of Georges Creek, Telephone Pioneers of America Chapter# 15, Washington,DC, Local # 2300 Communication Workers of America AFL-CIO, CLC Retired Members Club. She was the last of her immediate family. Surviving are two nieces, Mary Cannon and Martha Kerr of Gilmore, Md. and two nephews, David McKenzie and Kenneth McKenzie, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A., Midland, on Monday July 19, 2010 from 5-8 P.M. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday 11:00 A.M., July 20, 2010, by Msgr. James Hannon. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Midland, Md. The rosary will be held at 7:30 P.M.
