Kathryn Regina MCKENZIE and Joseph Ignacious O'ROURKE were married in Nov 1932 in Hagerstown, Washington Co., Maryland. Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Katherine McKenzie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry McKenzie, of Avilton, Garrett County, to Joseph O'Rourke son of Mr, and Mrs. Joseph O'Rourke, Sr., Water street, this place, solemnized in Hagerstown Md., the later part of November 1932. Mr. and Mrs. O'Rourke are making their home in Lonaconing. The Cumberland Sunday Times, April 9, 1933 Joseph Ignacious O'ROURKE was born on 31 Oct 1910. He died on 13 Aug 1974. He was buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lonaconing, Allegany Co., Maryland. Kathryn Regina MCKENZIE and Joseph Ignacious O'ROURKE had the following children:
SUFFOLK Va. — Regina Kathryn O'Rourke, 87, of 126 Pitchkettle Point Circle, Suffolk, passed on to eternal life on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at the Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Va. Born Nov. 11, 1912, in Lord Md., she was the daughter of the late Harry McKenzie and Ida (Wilhelm) McKenzie. She also was preceded in death by her husband Joseph I. O'Rourke. Surviving are two daughters, Elaine Muir and husband Jim, Lonaconing, Md., and Tillie Rivenbark and husband David, Suffolk; two brothers, Gordon McKenzie and wife Betty, Frostburg, Md., and Clinton McKenzie and wife Mary, Grantsville, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Kathryn was a member of St. Mary’s of the Presentation for the past nine years, and the Sodality of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lonaconing. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She will always be remembered for her devout faith, love of nature, and gentle spirit. She has touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. The family will receive visitors at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, Lonaconing. A Christian Wake Service will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday, Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. with Sister Marietta Culhane, OSF Pastorial Life Director of St. Mary’s Church, officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Mary’s of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Lonaconing, on Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at 9:30 a.m. with Father Paul Byrnes as celebrant. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills, Md. Cumberland Times-News, Thursday, Nov. 30, 1999
