FINZEL -- Velma Agnes Werner, 80, of 2550 Finzel Road, Frostburg, died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born Feb. 6, 1921 in Pocahontas, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Joshua and Amada (Arklie) McKenzie. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Werner; four brothers; five sisters; and she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Werner was a retired housekeeper from Frostburg State University. She was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church, Pocahontas. Mrs. Werner is survived by three sons, Roger Lee Werner, Finzel, Larry Werner and wife Christine, Frostburg, and Victor Werner and fiancee Barbara Martin, both of Finzel; three grandchildren, Nicol Ann Walker and husband Dan, Wilkes Barre, Larry Werner II, Frostburg, and Tina Marie Agnes Werner, Frostburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 8:30 p.m. by the Rev. Fr. Doug Kenney. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. William Moody as celebrant. Interment will be in the Finzel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenny Rosenberger, Robert McKenzie, David McKenzie, Keith McKenzie, Fred Keoner and Guy Griffith.
