    • SAMUEL EDWARD MCKENZIE, 54, Meyersdale RD 3, died Sunday Nov. 25, in the Miners Hospital, Frostburg MD. He was born Jan. 10, 1897, the son of John and Amanda (Clark) McKenzie, deceased. He is survived by his wife, Irene Freeburg McKenzie and two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Foy and Mrs. Elnora Steinley, Meyersdale. He was a member of the White Oak Evangelical and Reformed Church and the Order of Owls. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 pm in the Konhaus Funeral Home. Interment in White Oak Cemetery. He served in the military. Samuel entered the service on 30 Aug 1918 at Rockwood, Pennsylvania in the 55th Guard Co., as a Private 1st Class. United States service was from 30 August 1918 until 5 September 1918, at which time he was sent to France. He was there until 11 July 1919. Discharge was from Fort Dix, New Jersey on 18 July 1919. His gravesite marker - "PFC 55th Guard Co., WWI

      In 1920 census he is with his parents in Greenville Township, age 22, working as a clay miner.

      In 1930 census he is still single with his parents. Listed as veteran of WWI. He was buried.
