FROSTBURG - James Cobey McKenzie, 68, of Finzel Road, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1993, at Frostburg Hospital. Born March 6, 1925, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late James McKenzie and Oma (Caton) McKenzie. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Blanche Shockey and Mary Hartman. Mr. McKenzie was a retired employee of Mount Savage Refractories. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Big Savage Sportsman Club. Surviving are his wife, Mary C. (Brown) McKenzie; four sons, Darrell W. McKenzie, Winchester, Va.; James M. McKenzie, Frostburg; and Darvin L. McKenzie and Gail M. McKenzie, at home; two sisters, Edna Raley, Baltimore; and Helen Weimer, Cumberland; two brothers, George William McKenzie, Finzel Road; and Jack McKenzie, Baltimore; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Sunday. Services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home by the Rev. T. William Preston. Interment will be in Emmanuel Methodist Cemetery, Garrett County. Farrady Post 24 American Legion will accord military honors at graveside. Pallbearers will be Dale Raley, Leroy Raley, Ronnie Raley, Jerry Shockey, Ernie Hartman, Jackie McKenzie, Bill Weimer and Gerald Weimer.
