- Garland R. McKenzie, 46, of Avenue D, Potomac Park, city, died yesterday in University Hospital, Baltimore, where he was admitted August 13. Born in Cumberland, he was a son of the late Gallitzen L. and Marie (Goldsworthy) McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie was employed by Allegany Ballistics Laboratory, was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and Chemical Workers Local 261. Surviving are his widow, Ruth F. (Simmons) McKenzie and three brothers, George V. McKenzie, Fairgo, Virgil D. McKenzie, Short Gap, W. Va., and Paul W. McKenzie, Fairgo. The body will be at the George Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul's Catholic Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. A Christian Wake service will be conducted at the funeral home tomorrow at 8 p.m.
