March 16, 2005, Cumberland Times-News ~ FINZEL - Dorothy Agnes Lotz, 87, of Finzel Road, Finzel, died Friday, March 11, 2005, at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Center, Frostburg. Born Jan. 13, 1918, in Pocahontas, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Howard Finzel and Alberta (McKenzie) Finzel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edgar A. Lotz, on July 15, 2004; two sisters, Pearl Eisel and Irene Baker; and two brothers, Bernard Finzel and Donald Finzel. Mrs. Lotz was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pocahontas, Women of the Moose, where she was a past Senior Regent, and the Ladies' Auxiliary of Eastern Garrett County Volunteer Fire Dept. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Lotz and wife Sandra, Hagerstown and Dale Allen Lotz, Frederick; a daughter, Lee Anna Lewis and husband James, Frederick; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; one brother, Stanley Finzel, Grantsville; three sisters, Rhoda Byrd, Frostburg, Leona "Bake" Christner, Finzel and Patricia Mikeshell, Dairy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be held at the funeral home at 8:30 p.m. by the Rev. Father Albert J. Anselmi. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pocahontas, on Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father Albert J. Anselmi as celebrant. Interment will be in the Finzel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Getty, James Stakem, Robert Baker, Gary Finzel, Darin Lewis, and Todd Lotz. Memorials may be directed to the Eastern Garrett County Volunteer Fire Department.
