He died on 7 Jan 1977 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. Gilbert Bernard Lancaster, 81, of RD 1, Mt. Savage, died Friday at Sacred Heart Hospital. A native of Somerset County, Pa., he was a son of the late George W. and Susan (McKenzie) Lancaster. His wife, Mrs. Elizabeth L. (Stakem) Lancaster, preceded him in death. Mr. Lancaster was a retired employe of the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Mt. Savage. Surviving are two sons, Gilbert Bernard Lancaster Jr., Rawlings; and Daniel M. Lancaster, at home; three brothers, James Lancaster and Raymond Lancaster, both of Mt. Savage, and Gerald Lancaster, LaVale; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Wagner, Fairgo; Mrs. Mary Crites, LaVale, and Miss Hilda Lancaster, Mt. Savage, and two grandchildren. Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mt. Savage. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The rosary will be recited today at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be John Devlin, William Devlin, Raymond Lancaster, Thomas Lancaster, William Crites and William Urbas. The Cumberland News, January 10, 1977
