- SALISBURY, Pa. - Caroline C. “Carrie” McKenzie, 96, of Gay Street, Salisbury, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 1990, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born Feb. 25, 1894, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Annie (Bowers) Merrbach. She was preceded in death by her husband, Angus McKenzie, June 14, 1950. Mrs. McKenzie was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Surviving are one son, Wilbur McKenzie, Salisbury; two daughters, Leona Oester, Grantsville; and Lucille Werner, Salisbury; one brother, Theodore Merrbach, Grantsville; two sisters, Lydia Butler, Salisbury; and Amelia Valentine, Stoystown; 30 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home in Salisbury. Services will be held there Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David E. Fetter. Interment will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Avilton, Md.
