Born in Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late Harry R. Petenbrink and Catherine M. (Michaels) Petenbrink. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil B. McKenzie. Mrs. McKenzie was a former employee of the B&J Sub Shop. Surviving are three sons, R. William Brode, Cash Valley Road, LaVale, T/Sgt. Jack E. Brode, USAF, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and D. Wayne Brode, Upper Homewood Addition, Cumberland; one daughter, Mrs. Catherine E. Wallace of Boston Spa, N.Y; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Ballard of Cumberland, Mrs. Bessie Pugh of Mt. Savage; Mrs. Catherine Lynch of Baltimore; two brothers, carl Petenbrink of Cumberland and George Petenbrink of Frostburg, and two grandchildren. Friends will be received at the George Funeral Home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Hospice Unit of Sacred Heart Hospital. Interment will be in the Porter Cemetery, Eckhart. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
