What a Dad gives his Family can't be measured except by the Heart. It is with heavy heart and great sadness we announce the passing of our Dear Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Boss and Friend, Walter on February 19, 2007, with his family by his side, after a long and courageous battle with many inter-related illnesses. Walter leaves behind his loving wife, Amelia of 54 years. He was a devoted father to his two children, Marlene (Bernie) Bergeron and Wally (Marilyn). He loved his grandsons, Jonathon, Jerrod, Jamie, Derek and his only granddaughter, Leah; his three brothers, Don (Olga), Leonard (Vivian) of BC, Lester (Betty) and one sister, Sharron (Ray) Jodoin; one aunt and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and many, many friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Opal; and his father, William (Alf).
Walter loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. His guidance and wisdom will forever be remembered. He was loved, and respected by everyone who knew him. Walter enjoyed spending time at the cabin, golfing, barbequing, and sitting around the fire. He loved traveling with his wife to many fascinating places especially Hawaii. He loved going to Oiler, and Eskimo games; almost as much as the Red Wing Junior B Hockey team.Walter loved the simple things in life, Johnny Cash, making wine, old cars, and driving trucks. He took great pride in Truck-All Depot Ltd., and everyone involved with it. Walter was best known for his patience, and positive attitude, as well as his ability to find something good in everyone he met. He was his children's best friend. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, February 24 at St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church, 13131 - 86 Street. Reverend Leo Hofmann officiating with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
