Born March 23, 1934, in Midland, she was the daughter of the late William Gray and Lillian Elizabeth (Beveridge) Gray. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Paul Spiker, Nov. 29, 2004; one brother, Carlisle Gray; and three sisters, Hilda McGowan, Renna Hyde and Lillian Wattenschaidt. She was a former employee of Celanese Fiber Corporation and was also a representative for Avon. She is survived by three sons, Jerry Gray and wife Pam of Midland; Joseph Spiker of Midland and James Paul Spiker and wife Regina of Lonaconing; four daughters, Janet Lowery and husband Mike of Cumberland; Joan Duckworth and husband Bill of Oldtown; June Thomas and husband Jim of Cumberland; and Jody Spiker of Midland; 15 grandchildren, Seth, Lindsay, Jordan, Mason, Mandy, Megan, Misty, Shawna, Ryan, Corey, Nate, Sierra, Eli, Brandon and Shawn; 11 great-grandchildren, Brady, Brylee, Ryan, Taylor, Ian, Izak, Jocelyn, Jacob, Levi, Tyler and Riley; one sister, Mary Maine of Short Gap, W.Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews including one special nephew, Mike McGowan and wife Nancy of Midland. A memorial service will be held at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A., Midland, Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harry L. Burchell Jr. officiating. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to service at 10 a.m. Inurnment will be held at Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone.
