  Notes	In Taunton, of Taunton, May 25, 2012 John Richard Shearstone, husband of Cynthia (Smith) Shearstone died at his home after a second battle with cancer at the age of 65. Born in Taunton, Rich was the son of the late John and Edna (D’Amour) Shearstone. He was a graduate of Taunton High School class of 1964 and Lowell Technological Institute with his associate’s degree. Rich served in the US Army Reserves 483rd Engineer Battalion Company B for twenty years. He was a retired civil engineer for the Mass State Department of Transportation in Taunton for thirty six years. He was a member of the Taunton Fish and Game Club and the Fall River Country Club. Rich’s hobbies, talents and pleasures included being with his family, wood working, building, creating stained glass, golf, playing cards with his friends, traveling and helping others. He was a lifelong member of St John’s Episcopal Church in Taunton and served as a Jr Warden, Vestry Member and building and grounds keeper for many years. Rich was the father of Jeff R. Shearstone and his wife Theresa Jacobs of Framingham and Jenna Shearstone Vagias and her husband Wade, grandfather of Brooke Vagias all of Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. Brother of George Shearstone and his wife Rita of Taunton and Joan Waal and her husband Carl of Monument Beach, MA. Calling hour will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home 70 Washington Street in Taunton Monday, May 28th from 4-7 PM. A celebration of life service will be held at St John’s Episcopal Church in Taunton on Tuesday at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers donations in Richard’s memory may be made to St John’s Episcopal Church, 370 Bay Street, Taunton, MA, 02780 or a charity of one choice.
