John R. HOENICKA was born 6 Dec 1913 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. He died on 16 Oct 1975 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. John R. Hoenicka, 61, of 1218 Light Street, Baltimore, died yesterday at Sacred Heart Hospital, where he had been a patient six weeks. Born in Cumberland, he was a son of the late Reid and Bernadette (McKenzie) Hoenicka. His wife, Agnes (Kline) Hoenicka, preceded him in death. He had been employed by Maryland Drydock and Shipbuilding Company, Baltimore, for 35 years, and was a member of the Maryland Rifle Association. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ellen Marie Burr, Glen Burnie; two brothers, Charles E. and Philip (Frank) Hoenicka, city; five sisters, Mrs. Helen Clark, Mrs. Lillian Dorsey, Mrs. Pauline Moyer, Mrs. Bernadette Leidinger, and Mrs. Rita Keplinger, all of Cumberland, and three grandchildren. The body is at the Silcox-Merritt Funeral Residence, where friends will be received today from 7 until 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. The Cumberland Evening Times, October 17, 1975.
