Sharon Jean (House) Garlock, 70, of Little Orleans, passed away on Monday Dec. 12, 2016, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 17, 1946, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Edward House and the late Betty (Skidmore) House. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Joe House, and a sister, Janie Meanyhan. Sharon was a retired school bus driver for the city of Manassas, Va. She was a member of the Piney Plains Methodist Church in Little Orleans where she attended regularly. Her faith and her family was very important to Sharon. There were no strangers at her house. Sharon's joys in life was spending time with children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Edward P. "Butch" Garlock; her sons, Rick McKenzie and wife, Wendy of LaVale, Joe McKenzie and wife, Tina of Klamath Falls, Ore., Jimmy Lashbaugh and wife, Sandy of Cresaptown, Paul Garlock and wife, Michelle of Las Vegas, Nev., Kenny Garlock of Louisville, Ky.; her daughter, Jami Strickland and husband, Derek of Endinboro, Pa.; 14 grandchildren, Jacqie, Ricky, Josh, Christopher, Stephen, and Chase McKenzie, Joey McKenzie, Crystalynn Elder, Cohen and Joselyn McKenzie, Alexis Lashbaugh, Tyla Garlock, and D.J. and Karli Strickland, 10 great-grandchildren, Declan, Colin, Logan, Ashlin, Joey, Kristian, Arley, Dillan, Adin, and Emma. Also, surviving, her brother, Steve House and wife, Gayle of Addison, Pa.; and her sister, Bonnie Fletcher and husband, Norman of Winchester, Va. Family and friends will be received at Sowers Funeral Home, on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joshua Rider officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Rick McKenzie, Joe McKenzie, Jimmy Lashbaugh, Paul Garlock, Derek Strickland, and Steve House. FROSTBURG — Stephen T. Michaels Sr., 68, of Frostburg, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at WMHS-Braddock Campus. Born on Nov. 11, 1940, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Clarence H. Michaels and Kathryn (Solomon) Michaels. He was also preceded in death by one brother, James B. Michaels. Stephen was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, Frostburg, Frostburg Elks Lodge 470, Farrady Post 24 American Legion, for 42 years and Western Maryland Grasshoppers. He was a life time member of Piney Mountain Sportsman's Club and the Clarysville Volunteer Fire Department, where he was past fire chief and played a major role in overseeing the construction of the buildings at the Hoffman Ball Field and maintained their upkeep for close to 20 years. Mr. Michaels was a U.S. Army veteran, retiring with 27 years of service with Company B 121st Engineer Battalion of the Army National Guard; he also retired after 28 years with Kelly Springfield in the Truck Tire Division. Surviving are his wife, Margaret (Twigg) Michaels; one son, Stephen T. Michaels Jr., of Eckhart; one daughter, Dena Winebrenner and husband David, of Eckhart; two grandsons, Stephen T. Michaels III and a very special grandson, Joseph A. McKenzie Jr. and wife Staci, of Oregon; two granddaughters, Crystalynn Judkins and husband Jared, of Oregon and Hagerstown and Nicole Michaels, of Frostburg; three great-grandsons, Adin Judkins, Dillan Judkins, and Joseph McKenzie III; and one aunt, Anna Mary Blank, of Eckhart. The family would like to thank his special friends and the Oncology Staff that helped him through out his illness. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Monday, Sept. 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Clarysville Fire Department will hold a memorial service on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and the Elks Lodge 470 will hold their memorial service at 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday in St. Michaels Catholic Church at 1 p.m. with Father James Hannon as celebrant. Interment will be in the Porter Cemetery, Eckhart, with military honors accorded by members of Maryland Army National Guard. Pallbearers will be Troy Twigg, Scott Twigg, James Michaels, Michael Kucharczyk, Jim Kucharczyk, and David Winebrenner. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Shertzer, Butch Rankin, Pete Rafferty, Butch Smith, Frank Sheperd, David F. Winebrenner, Eugene Michaels, Robert Michaels, and Lester Beal.

Anthony John MCKENZIE (son of John William MCKENZIE and Mary Ellen MINICK) was born on 27 Jan 1920. He died on 22 May 1986 in Frostburg, Allegany Co., Maryland. He. A surprise wedding anniversary observance was held recently at the Eastern Garrett County Community Building in honor of Mr. and Mrs, Anthony J. McKenzie of Frostburg. The 35th anniversary affair, was given by their children and featured a multi-colored scheme with baloons, streamers, wedding bells and a "Happy Anniversary" banner. Mr. and Mrs. McKenzie were married at St. Michael's Catholic Church by Rev. Francis K. Montgomery on February 21, 1939. Their attendants were Hilda (McKenzie) Giles and John E. Roby, sister and brother-in-law of the couple. Mr. McKenzie is the son of John W. and Mary Ellen (Minick) McKenzie. Mrs. McKenzie is the daughter of Clarence M. and Barbara M. Raley. They have three sons and four daughters, Wayne, Richard and David McKenzie; Mrs. Lewis Fike, Mrs. James Purbaugh, Mrs. John Buckalew Jr. and Mrs. Robert Scott. They have six granddaughters and eight grandsons. "The Skillet Lickers" of Frostburg provided music and entertainment. Mr. and Mrs. McKenzie received gifts and greetings from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, South Carolina and Nevada. Assisting with arrangements were Mary Fike, Beverly Purbaugh, Regina Buckalew, Sally Scott, Sherry McKenzie and Virgil Lint of Meyersdale, twin sister of Mrs. McKenzie, Karen McKenzie registered guests. FROSTBURG - Anthony J. McKenzie, 66, of West National Highway, died Thursday at Frostburg Community Hospital. Born here Jan. 27, 1920, he was a son of the late John (Satchel) McKenzie and Mary Ellen (Minick) McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie served in the European Theater of Operations with the Army in World War II and received the Purple Heart after being wounded in action. He was a former coal miner and a former employee of Ort's Bakery, Cumberland. He belonged to St. Michael's Catholic Church; Farrady Post 24, American Legion; Old Rail Post 6025, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Mount Savage; Temasters Local 453, Frostburg, and the United Mine Workers of America. Survivors include his widow, the former Verna Raley, three sons, P. Wayne McKenzie, David M. McKenzie and Richard J. McKenzie, and four daughters, Mrs. Mary M. Fike, Mrs. Beverly J. Purbaugh, Mrs. Regina M. Buckalew and Mrs. Sally A. Scott, all of the Frostburg area. Also surviving are three brothers, William (Bill) McKenzie, Francis(Dick) McKenzie and Eugene (Flooze) McKenzie, all of Frostburg; seven sisters, Mrs. Clara Cain, Kent, Ohio; Mrs. Delia Connor and Mrs. Ruth Durkin, both of Eckhart; Mrs. Evelyn Shriver, Mrs. Thelma Raley and Mrs. Mildred Minick, all of Frostburg; Mrs. Hilda Giles, of Alabama; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian wake service will be held at the funeral home Friday at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Church Saturday at 10:30 a.m. by Msgr. John L. Reinsfelder. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, where members of Farrady Legion and Old Rail VFW posts will accord military honors. Pallbearers will be Richard J. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. House, Sr., one son: Edward J. House, Jr, and
one daughter, Jane Meanyhan. She was a member of the Frostburg Church of the Brethren. She was a
wonderful mother and raised a large, loving and caring family. Surviving are her son, Steve House and wife,
Gayle, Addison, PA; two daughters: Bonnie Fletcher, and husband, Norman, Winchester; Sharon Garlock
and husband, Edward, Little Orleans; daughter-in-law, Nancy House, Potomac Park;15 grandchildren; 29
great grandchildren; three sisters: Mabel Connor, Glen Burnie, Phyllis Pape, Topping VA, and Gladys
Howsare, Leesburg, VA. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St.,
Frostburg, on Monday from 7 to 9 p. m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Funeral services will be
conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 a. m. with Rev. Rick Riley officiating. Interment will
