    Jack W. "Spider" Lowery, 76, of Ellerslie, died Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Sparks Regional Medical Center, Fort Smith, Ark. Born Sept. 24, 1941, in Ellerslie, he was a son of the late Roy "Bill" and Dorothy (Hosselrode) Lowery. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Whitney Danielle Morrow. He is survived by children, Kelly Layes and husband, Allen, Fort Smith, Kevin Lowery and wife, Jo Anne, Cumberland; grandchildren, Ben Bridges (Erin), Tyler Bridges (Sara), and Allissa Layes; great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Mackenzie and Anthony Bridges; brother, Vernon Lowery and wife, Sandy; several nieces and nephews. Jack retired from Kelly-Springfield Tire Company. He was a lifetime member of Kennells Mill Sportsman Club. In his younger years, he played baseball and fast pitch softball throughout the tri-state area. Jack was well known for playing 8-ball and skill pool for many different teams over the years. Jack never met a stranger. He had many friends at the clubs and bars around the area with Kennells Mill Sportsman Club being his favorite. Friends will be received at Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home Inc., 169 Clarence St., Hyndman, Pa., on Tuesday April 24, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.     ELLERSLIE — Dorothy Irene Lowery, 81, of Ellerslie, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home. Born July 12, 1916, at Glencoe, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Henry L. and Sarah Ann (Witt) Hosselrode. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Roy A. “Bill" Lowery, on Oct. 5, 1990; two sisters, Edna Martz and Elsie Troutman; and two brothers, Lester “Chuck" Hosselrode and Francis “John” Hosselrode. Surviving are three sons, Vernon A. Lowery and wife Sandy, Ellerslie, Jack W. Lowery, Ellerslie, and Donald “Rich” Lowery and wife Dot, Mount Savage; five grandchildren, Tawny Delaney, Frostburg, Terri Lowery, Cumberland, Relly Layes, Arkansas, Revin Lowery, Potomac Park, and Todd Lowery, Mount Savage; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Irvin Hosselrode, Hyndman, Pa.; and two sisters, Lottie Clites and Eva Sager, both of Hyndman. Mrs. Lowery was a homemaker and a member of the Ellerslie United Methodist Church and the Ellerslie Athletics Association. She was a former president and past member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ellerslie Volunteer Fire Company. Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rebecca J. Vardiman officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park.
