Evelyn L. Jackson, 90, of Greenville Road, Meyersdale, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 22, 2012 at home. Born Oct. 5, 1921 in Pocahontas, she was the only child of the late Jonas V. and Grace (Werner) Layman. She is survived by her husband, Cecil E. Jackson, with whom she would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Oct. 3. Also survived by two sons, Robert and wife Joan, Mercersburg; and William and wife Lora, Ellerslie, Md.; six grandchildren: Julie O'Neal and husband Wade, Cumberland, Md.; Jonathan Jackson and wife Jennifer, Altoona; Joy Murray and husband David, Fort Campbell, Tenn.; Jade Jackson, Baltimore, Md.; Justine Jackson and Joseph Jackson, both of Cumberland, Md.; six great-grandchildren: Alizabeth, Breanna, Brady, and Addison O'Neal, Justin Jackson and Grace Murray. Evelyn was a life-long member of the New Hope United Church of Christ. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she and Cecil were the owners of Cecil E. Jackson Inc. of Meyersdale, The John Deere Store. After retirement she and her husband spent the winters in Florida and liked traveling in their Airstream travel trailer throughout most of the United States. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Kathleen Barberio and Rev.
