. FROSTBURG — George C. Pryor, 51, Eckhart, died yesterday at University Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va., where he had been a patient several weeks. Mr. Pryor was born in Eckhart, a son of Florence Himmelwright and the late Joseph Pryor. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, president of the Frostburg Republican Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, a member of the Lonaconing Republican Club, Haystack Rod and Gun Sportsmen's Club, and an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was an employe of the Amcelle Fibers Plant, Celanese Corporation. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his widow, Marjorie (McCormick) Pryor; one son, Joseph L. Pryor, with the Army at Abilene, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. George Muir, Corriganville, and Miss Sandra Pryor, at home; five brothers, Clinton, Glenn and Donald Pryor, all of Eckhart; Clarence Pryor, Frostburg, and Earl Pryor, La Vale; two sisters, Mrs. Bernard Clayton, Baltimore, and Miss Regina Pryor, Eckhart, and five grandchildren. The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home, 60 West Main Street, where friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The Cumberland Evening Times, July 5, 1966

ECKHART — Marjorie Pryor Beeman, 76, of Eckhart, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 1994 at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born in Cumberland July 26, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Harry Lee and Mary E. (Bergman) McCormick. She was also predeceased by two husbands, George C. Pryor and Melvin J. Beeman; and one sister, Verna Washington. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She was past president of the Allegany/Garrett County Firemen’s Auxiliary; member of the Clarysville Firemen’s Auxiliary; Ladies of the Eagles, #1273; American Legion, Farrady Unit #24. She is survived by one son, Joseph L. Pryor of Frostburg; two daughters, Georgiana Muir and husband George of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Sandra R. Garlitz and husband Dale T. of Eckhart; five sisters, Patricia Mendonca of Walnut Grove, Cal., Nettie Leydig of Greencastle, Pa., Mary Rosalie Rhodin of Bartow, Fla., Ursula Young of Lakeland, Fla., and Edith Mae Sigman of Decator, Ga.; nine grandchildren, Robert, Michael, Gail, Richard, Andy, Dalene, Lisa, Donald, and Rebecca; six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with Msgr. John L. Reinsfelder officiating. Interment will be in Eckhart Cemetery. FROSTBURG — Mrs. Florence Pryor, 79, formerly of Eckhart, died yesterday at Lions Manor Nursing Home, Cumberland. Born in Eckhart, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Margaret E. Himmelwright and was the widow of Joseph Pryor. Mrs. Pryor was a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Cumberland. Surviving are five sons: Clinton, Glenn and Donald, Eckhart; Earl, LaVale; and Clarence Pryor, Frostburg; a brother, Francis Himmelwright, Cumberland; 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Miss Regina Pryor, died Monday and was buried yesterday. The body is at the Hafer-Sowers Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted there tomorrow at 2 p. m. by Rev. Richard J, Brown. Burial will be in Eckhart Cemetery.
