Curtis L. Hosselrode, 52, of Hyndman RD 1, died Friday, June 14, 1985, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. He was born in Londonderry Township, Bedford County, April 19, 1933, a son of Lester L. Hosselrode, RD 1, and the late Marian R. (Lowery) Hosselrode. He was employed as a laborer. He was a member of the Palo Alto United Methodist Church, the Kennells Mills Sportsmen's Club and Cumberland Aerie 245, Fraternal Order of Eagles. Besides his father, he is survived by four brothers, Robert J. Hosselrode, Theodore H. Hosselrode, Harry H. Hosselrode and Russell E. Hosselrode, and three sisters, Mrs. Vivian O. Webber, Mrs. Anna J. Webber and Mrs. Deborah L. Piper. All reside at Hyndman RD 1. Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home where services were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Allyn L. Ricketts. Interment, Porter Cemetery. The Republic, Meyersdale, June 20, 1985

Lester L. "Chuck" Hosselrode, 83, of Hyndman RD 1, died Sunday, June 18, 1995, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. He was born Sept. 23, 1911, in Southampton Township, Somerset County, a son of the late Henry L. and Sara Annie (Witt) Hosselrode. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian R. (Lowery) Hosselrode, Feb. 16, 1973; a son, Curtis L. Hosselrode, and two sisters, Edna Martz and Elsie Troutman. Surviving are four sons and three daughters, Robert J. Hosselrode (husband of Dona), Harry H. Hosselrode (husband of Judy), Theodore H. "Buck" Hosselrode (husband of "Sugar"), Russell E. Hosselrode (husband of Cindy), Vivian L. Webber (wife of Jim), Anna J. Webber (wife of Barney), and Debra L. Piper (wife of Johnny), all of Hyndman RD 1; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Irvin Hosselrode of Hyndman RD 1 and Johnny Hosselrode of Hyndman; and three sisters, Lottie Clites and Eva Sager, both of Hyndman, and Dorothy Lowery of Ellerslie, Md. Mr. Hosselrode retired in 1977 after 39 years' employment with the B&O Railroad where he worked as a blacksmith at the Bolt and Forge Shop in Cumberland. He was a 50-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 245, Cumberland, and the Kennells Mills Sportsmen's Club. He attended Palo Alto United Methodist Church. Funeral services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Bible Church, Ellerslie, with the Revs. Rick D. Nelson, Ken L. Korns and Robert C. Hartung officiating. Burial in Porter Cemetery near Ellerslie. HYNDMAN - Mrs. Marian Rosella Hosselrode, 57, of RD 1, was dead on arrival yesterday at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. A native of Ellerslie, she was a daughter of Henry Lowery and the late Emma Jane DeVore Lowery. She was a member of Ellerslie United Methodist Church. Surviving besides her father are her husband, Lester L. Hosselrode; five sons, Russell and Robert Hosselrode, at home; Curtis, Theodore and Harry Hosselrode, RD 1; three daughters, Mrs. Vivian Webber, Mrs. Anna Webber, and Miss Deborah Hosselrode, all of RD 1; a brother, Roy Lowery, Ellerslie; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Snelson, Mrs. Phyllis Cook, Ellerslie; Mrs. Flossie Smith, Baltimore; and five grandchildren. Mrs. Emma J. Lowery, 83, of Ellerslie, died yesterday at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Rachel (Clites) Devore. Mrs. Lowery was a member of the Ellerslie Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband, Henry Lowery; a son, Roy Lowery, Ellerslie; four daughters, Mrs. Elsie Snelson and Mrs. Phyllis Cook, Ellerslie; Mrs. Marian Hosselrode, RD 1, Hyndman and Mrs. Flossie Smith, Baltimore; a sister, Mrs. Walter Lowery, Ellerslie Road; 36 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Zeigler Funeral Home in Hyndman where friends will be received today from 7 until 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. A service will be conducted there Friday at 2 p.m. Rev. Milton W. Benny Jr. will officiate and burial will be in the Porter Cemetery.

Thomas J. DeVore, 87, retired farmer of near Ellerslie, died yesterday in Allegany County Infirmary. He was born April 23, 1864, a son of the late Daniel and Rachel DeVore. His wife, the former Miss Rachel Clites, died in 1940. Mr. DeVore held memberhip in Ellerslie Evangelical Church and Tonkaway Tribe No. 120, Improved Order of Red Men, Cumberland Survivors include four children, Mrs. Henry Lowery and Mrs. George Spellman, Ellerslie; Mrs. Walter Lowery and Harvey DeVore, both of Route 1, Hyndman, Pa., and 28 grandchildren. Rites will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Lowery, Ellerslie, by Rev. Charles Raley. Burial will take place in Porter Cemetery there. Hyndman, Pa., Sept. 15 - Mrs. Rachel Jane Devore, 78, wife of Thomas Devore, died at her home yesterday near Hyndman. She had been ill about six months. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Clites. Surviving besides her husband are three daughters, Mrs. Henry Lowery, Ellerslie; Mrs. Walter Lowery, Hyndman, and Mrs. George Speelman, Ellerslie, and one son, Harvey Devore, Hyndman, 32 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
