MOUNT SAVAGE — John E. “Jack” Walsh Sr. 76, of Mount Savage, died March 15, 2013 at his residence. Born Dec. 11, 1936, in Mount Savage, to the parents of Earl Lester Walsh and Margaret E. (Pratt) Walsh. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon J. Walsh; two brothers, Earl Joe Walsh and Richard "Dick" Walsh; one sister, Mary Margaret Rice; and a niece, Gina Sue Walsh. Mr. Walsh was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Mount Savage, receiving the Medal of Honor from the Archdiocese of Baltimore for work in the church. He was a member of Mount Savage Taxing Committee, the Water Committee, the Community Park, and the Mount Savage Fire Department and Hall. He retired from Bethlehem Steel after 36 years as an Area Mechanical Foreman. Surviving are his wife, Shelva Jean “Jeanie” Walsh; sons, John E. Walsh Jr. and wife Deborah L. Walsh and Thomas L. Walsh and Lorri L. Henry; grandchildren, Angela L. Hare and husband Eric, John E. Walsh III and fiancé Christiana Grue, Shawn M. Walsh and fiancé Kristy Dean, Zachary T. Walsh and Joseph D. “JD” Walsh; great-grandchildren, Kailey A. Hare and Gavin P. Hare; a sister, Rita Sites; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received at Durst Funeral Home P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 2 to 6 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. MOUNT SAVAGE Ralph F. Jake Winebrenner, 86, of Slabtown Road, N.W., Mount Savage, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at Memorial Hospital. Born Feb. 9, 1916, in Mount Savage, he was the son of the late William Morrison and Susan (Hutzell) Winebrenner. Mr. Winebrenner was also preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor (Schneider) Winebrenner; one son, Ralph F. Winebrenner Jr., in 1953; and one granddaughter, Sharon Walsh. Mr. Winebrenner was retired from the spinning department at the former Celanese Fibers Corporation, and he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Mount Savage United Methodist Church, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 348, Frostburg, and American Legion Farrady Post 24, Frostburg. Surviving are six daughters, Jeanie Walsh and husband Jack, Mount Savage, Dot Lowery and husband Rich, Mount Savage, Sue Yantz and husband Frank, Mount Savage, Polly Clark and husband Dale, Mount Savage, Sandy Lowery and husband Vernon, Ellerslie, and Judi OBaker and husband Gary, Ellerslie; two sons, Tom Winebrenner and wife Mary Lee, Slabtown, and Dennis Denny Winebrenner, with whom he resided, and Dennys special friend, Cathy Smith, Meyersdale, Pa.; a special friend, Edna Weisenmiller, Ridgeley, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one brother, Clinton Doc Winebrenner, Hyndman, Pa.; one sister, Viola Deal, Frostburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Galen Winebrenner officiating. Interment will be in the United Methodist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Walsh, Tom Walsh, Frank Yantz, Cory Yantz, Todd Lowery, and Larry OBaker. Memorials may be directed to the Mount Savage United Methodist Church, New Row Road, N.W., Mount Savage, MD 21545.

Born in Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late William and Pansy (Metz) Schneider. Mrs. Winebrenner attended Mt. Savage United Methodist Church. Also surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Jeanie Walsh, Glen Burnie; Mrs. Dorothy Lowery, Mrs. Susan Yantz, and Mrs. Polly Clark, all of here; Mrs. Sandy Britt, LaVale; and Mrs. Judi O'Baker, Barrelville; two sons, Thomas R., of here, and Marshall D. Winebrenner; two brothers, Frederick Schneider, York, Pa., and Donald Schneider, LaVale; two sisters, Mrs. Rita Higgins, Lancaster, Pa., and Mrs. Dorothy Wentzel, Fisher, Minn., and nine grandchildren. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
